Photographers, Welcome! Photo Workshops Miami presents, CHASING THE LIGHT, hosted by Coral Gables Museum on Saturday, April 25, 2015. We've assembled a team of instructors who have a combined 245 years of professional photography experience. In an intimate setting they’ll bring you hands-on instruction with photo workshops, seminars, location lighting and portfolio reviews. For one full day you’ll share the fun and creativity of photography with some of the best in the business. For the professional, amateur or photo enthusiast, who dreams of improving their photography skills, we’ve planned Photo Workshops Miami with you in mind. Take your craft to the next level, join us and START LIVING THE DREAM!  We close out the evening at Leica Store Miami as we toast to what surely will be a memorable experience! Limited seating available - tickets on sale now.

Photo Workshop with Rick Friedman "Location Lighting Workshop." from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. This dynamic, intensive, interactive photo workshop is designed for portrait photographers, photojournalists, corporate, wedding, event photographers and serious amateurs who want to improve their knowledge of lighting. The photo workshop begins with creating interesting light with one Speedlight, progresses through using multiple Speedlites, light modifiers, color gels and ends with mixing both Speedlights and studio strobes. Attend Rick's class and you will leave feeling empowered to capture great images no matter what lighting situation you come up against! You’ll have the opportunity to work with a live model as Rick demonstrates his creative lighting techniques. | WHERE TO MEET: You'll meet up at the Coral Gables Museum. | WHERE YOU'LL BE GOING: Location TBA. | WHAT TO BRING: Don't forget your camera and a few lenses, but keep it to the bare minimum, remember that you’ll need to carry this with you for the duration. Photo Workshop with Ken Sklute "It's all in the Light!" from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Come join Ken for the power of live hands-on experience of fun, creativity, and photography with Canon's Explorer of Light Ken Sklute. This photo workshop will begin with a short lecture showing Ken’s latest imagery and the thought process behind the captures. You’ll then have the opportunity to work with a live model as Ken demonstrates his creative lighting techniques. | WHERE TO MEET: You'll meet up at the Coral Gables Museum. | WHERE YOU'LL BE GOING: Location TBA. | WHAT TO BRING: Don't forget your camera and a few lenses, but keep it to the bare minimum, remember that you’ll need to carry this with you for the duration. Portfolio Review

Portfolio Reviews from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. with LaRae Lobdell, Rick McCawley, Marc Serota, Patrick Farrell & Maggie Steber. | Each attendee receives one twenty-minute session. |Additional sessions are available for purchase. This ticket includes Closing Reception at Leica Store Miami from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. The portfolio review session allows the beginning, emerging and established professional photographer to present their work to key, hard-to-meet, successful working pros. They'll show the way and answer your questions. The portfolio reviews give the photographer feedback as to what’s working and what’s not with their images. The review process is a two-sided conversation, so come prepared to chat (it’s also the only way you’re going to get valuable feedback).

Lecture Series

Speakers 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. - LaRae Lobdell, Al Diaz and Marc Serota. This ticket includes Opening Welcome with Ken Sklute and Closing Reception at Leica Store Miami from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Our creatives, Lobdell, Diaz and Serota are award winning professionals in their field. As speakers they bring you their vision providing an educational platform with a passion to inspire and improve your photography skills. Registration desk opens at 8:00 a.m.

Portfolio Review - Maximize your portfolio review experience.
Photographers are advised to bring a selection of approximately 20 photos representing a tightly edited body of work. Bring a notepad and pen. Attending our Portfolio Review program represents an incredible opportunity to obtain valued feedback and critiques from industry veterans.
 
Respect the 20 minute time slot you have for showing your work and be ready to move on when your time is up. Some overlap is inevitable; however, when the 5 minute warning is called start wrapping it up.
